My Channel Ident
This ident is based on a young girl in her mid-teens dancing, playing around and just having fun in the space of her own home. We wanted to get the feel that she was watching MTV (Music Television). It starts off with the girl twirling in a circle, she then claps her hands and as she does that, a peice of tinsel appears around her neck. We chose tinsel as it fitted with our theme of the whole ident, which was Christmas, we added little Christmas-y elements to show this. The girl then twirls around again, then ducking down under the camera, reappearing with a red indian style hat on her head. We chose this to represent fancy dress, which was portraying her party side. We then got the girl to jump in a large, red santa stocking, again using a few Christmas props. She then puts on a jumper, which I thought would represent the fashion on MTV, meanwhile ending the stopmotion with a radio appearing into her hands and then dissapearing.The ident then finishes off with a small stop motion which was hand drawn, to create little snowballs falling from the sky, then landing on the floor with the word 'MTV' in snow.
Throughout the planning, my group members and I were always certain that we wanted to create an ident rather than an advertisement. As soon as we began to discuss further in detail about what programme we wanted to do, pretty much all at the same time we all thought of MTV. All 3 of us were really enthusiastic and fond of MTV as we all wwatched it regulary.
